Great News If Your Partner Snores | QuietOn Sleep Review
Getting a restful night’s sleep has always been a challenge for me. Ever since I was a child, I have been a light sleeper. When I moved to the city a few years ago, my lack of quality, uninterrupted sleep turned into a way of life.
I was at the point of desperation. The QuietOn Sleep noise-cancelling earplugs have been a lifesaver for me.
Low-Frequency Noises
Until now, nothing has stuck or proven to be an effective way for me to sleep more deeply. When a friend of mine introduced me to the QuietOn Sleep Earbuds, I could hardly wait to go home and research them.
If you are anything like me and have struggled with being a light sleeper at any time in your life, you may already know that low-frequency noises, anything between 20 and 200 HZ, are one of the biggest culprits in sleep disturbance.
Some low-frequency noises come from natural sources such as wind, thunder and ocean waves. Other low-frequency noises come from artificial sources in urban environments.
These include machinery, transportation, and air movement. The city is full of people and noises. Normal earplugs can’t filter these sounds out, and I have tried a lot of earplugs searching for relief.
The QuietOn Sleep Active Noise Cancelling technology, developed by Nokia, works exceptionally well in canceling out low-frequency noises. I ordered the earplugs that day.
Ordering
Ordering was simple and streamlined through the QuietOn website. The regular price is $219, but they are currently on offer for $169 before shipping. Replacement foam tips are $19.
Due to the time of year I ordered, sometime after Thanksgiving, it took a little bit longer to get my order. The website states that it could take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to receive the product. I received the package right at the 3-week point.
Features
One of the biggest selling points for me with these was the fact that they do NOT have Bluetooth capability. The last thing I want is some frequency emitting right into my ear while I’m trying to sleep. They do not have the capacity to connect to any music-playing device, either. These are strictly noise-canceling earplugs.
QuietOn earbuds use active noise-reduction and active noise-canceling technology with a microphone and speaker to cancel out a sound using phase-shifting. The result is a restful night’s sleep filled with peace and quiet.
Another great feature is the ability to switch between sleep and hearing mode. This is ideal if you want to use them for work, or if you have sleeping babies and still want to be able to hear them. To determine which mode is set, simply snap your fingers close to the device.
The battery is said to last 20 hours after a full charge; however, I have yet to use them for that long. I have a very long flight coming up in a couple of months and will test that claim and report back.
The QuietOn carrying case doubles as a charger, which is very convenient. Simply place the earplugs into the charging case and plug in a USB charger. The lights on the case will illuminate while they are charging and switch off when they are fully charged. Charging takes an hour.
The fact that these are so incredibly easy to use, with no buttons or settings, and no pesky wires, make them a highly viable option for anyone who needs a better night’s sleep.
QuietOn features three sizes of foam tips for ultimate comfort. Every ear is different, and QuietOn has small, medium, and large tips so you can find the right fit. They are fitted with the medium size as a default, but if you need a different size, simply twist off and rotate and push the new eartip into place.
Then place the eartips firmly in your ear and rotate backwards to ensure they are airtight.
I also liked the founder’s story about his stress levels dropping once he purchased noise-canceling headphones in the middle of a busy airport. I totally understood what he meant by that, as really noisy crowded areas sometimes raise my anxiety. I’m excited to use these at the airport and in other situations where there may be a crowd of people and activity.
Package Options
QuietOn has three package options for your sleep needs. The QuietOn Active Noise Cancelling Device is designed to handle a snoring partner. If you both snore, there is a two-pack, so you can both get a restful night’s sleep. If you have family members or children who snore, consider the four-pack of QuietOn Sleep earbuds.
Warranty
One of the most impressive features of QuietOn Sleep earbuds is the one-year warranty for customers outside of the EU, and a two-year warranty for EU customers. While the foam tips are not covered under this warranty, they are durable. For the price of these earbuds, it’s good to know their technology and craftsmanship are protected.
You can return the unused and undamaged earbuds within 14 days of purchase but must contact their customer service department to do so.
First Impressions
Before I used these earplugs, my quality of life was suffering significantly due to my sensitivity to sleep disturbances. It affected my relationships, my health, and my career. Since receiving the noise-canceling earplugs in the mail about a month ago, not only have I not been waking up to the slightest noises at night, but I have been feeling so much better. I am less grumpy and irritable, easier to be around, and I have more energy to do the things I need to do.
It is hard to say right now whether these are a short-term fix or will be a long-term solution, but I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t be. They are wireless, comfortable to wear, and I barely notice them in my ears when I’m trying to fall asleep. They are portable and easy to charge so I can use them on flights, at work, and anywhere I’m trying to focus and block out distractions.
My wife tried them, and they tuned out my huffing and puffing when tossing and turning, so she appreciated a good night’s sleep!
Final Verdict
In today’s fast-paced society, it is an understatement to say that there is not enough emphasis on the importance of getting enough sleep. It is said that anywhere from 50-70 million Americans suffer from sleep deprivation.
The short-term consequences of inadequate sleep include fatigue, low energy, cognitive issues, and poor coordination.
Long-term effects of sleep disturbance are severe and even life-threatening, including obesity, hypertension, and heart disease. Knowing the facts doesn’t always help our situation, and if you’re anything like me, it sometimes made it worse to know that I was trying everything to get better sleep, and I just could not find a viable solution.
Purchasing the QuietOn Noise Cancelling earbuds was an investment in my health, and one of the best investments I have ever made.
I recommend these to anyone who is suffering from the consequences of inadequate sleep, for those who may not be suffering but want to ensure they are getting a solid eight hours each night, and for anyone who wants to help out a loved one who is suffering. The results have been life-changing, and I am so grateful for this product.
